Theme

These knights are sworn to protect against the darkness, and will go against anything that stands in their way, even taking weapons of the enemy into their own hands.

Build around the combos of Pestilence + Protection from Black (PfB), and Darkest Hour + PfB.

This is an old school deck that is fast and reliable. It crushes creature decks and naturally any opponent playing black spells. It's insanely fun to play, because of the playstyle and the thematic setting, but it does however have a strong weakness against control decks.

Clarification

• Creatures with PfB will not receive any damage from Pestilence.
• The damage done with Pestilence is black, and therefore PfB creature with Pariah will not take damage.
• Deathlace makes a spell black, and can therefore PfB will protect from removals.
• The life payed for Necropotence is not possible to redirect to a PfB creature using Pariah.

Synergies

• Death Speakers + Pestilence is a cheap way to negate the damage from pestilence, and is a pretty good one drop.
• Northern Paladin + Deathlace can destroy any target permanent.
• In some cases Pariah can be used to stop a creature from hitting you, if it can't be dealt with in other ways.
• Dark Ritual to create a high amount of {B} to use for Pestilence or Necropotence.
• Sphere of Grace works very well with Pestilence and Darkest Hour.

Turn 2: Dark Ritual and Pestilence.

Removals

• Swords to Plowshares for the creatures that are not dealt with by using Pestilence.
• Disenchant for enchantments and artefacts.
