Redo on my old Mimics deck. Different enough that I felt it should be re-made. Less focus on creature defence, and more focus on control/card draw to reach the mimic. Looking for what to drop to sideboard as well as additional win cons.
Thinking behind cards:
Lands:
24 lands for late curve. Shocklands preferred, but budget does not currently permit.
Creatures:
Progenitor Mimic The reason the deck exists. Anything but the mystic is potentially a viable copy, although opponents are more likely to provide something worthwhile.
Wall of Frost
Stall. Simple.
Master Biomancer Beef up anything else I bring out, when copied by the mimic creates copies that are increasing in power each consecutive copy :)
Elvish Mystic Ramp for some faster card draw
Elite Arcanist Guarantees counter late game. Exile
Render Silent
/Silence and ensure your opponent cant remove the ramping creature total, or operate within there own turn for that matter!
Instants:
Azorius Charm Quick, cheap card draw/protection from any nasty fast playing creatures.
Disperse Simple removal of a baddy.
Render Silent
Also known simply as "No!" Stop that nasty Archangel of Thune popping out. (Unless of course your sitting on a safe mimic!)
Silence Excellent stall, perfect synergy with Elite Arcanist
Sorcery:
Divination Fill dat hand with counters!
Inaction Injunction
Undecided... could buy an extra turn and gives that useful card draw. Undecided fully on this one.
Sideboard includes primarily cards to counter enemy non-creature based decks. Very subject to change, and suggestions appreciated.
I would LOVE to include some Sphinx's Revelation, but money. Supreme Verdict is also being considered.
Suggestions are much appreciated, especially if you give a suitable replacement, and if you give some explanation on how it would play then all the better, I'm more likely to take the suggestion.
Don't forget to +1 if you like the deck!
