The inspiration for this deck is the interaction between Flash and Protean Hulk in more competitive decks. Not necessarily the part where you win with those two cards part but rather how the Flash card itself works. If you haven’t played with or against it I’ll just explain quickly. You reveal what card you’ll put into play as the card resolves. This means that when you cast Flash your opponents will have to either counter the spell assuming you have Protean Hulk on hand or run the risk of losing if they didn’t have a Stifle or similar. In this deck we expand on that a bit. The base idea of the deck was that I want to cast Flash and watch my opponents have no idea how to respond. Sadly not all interactions are as, dare I say it, op as flash hulk in a breakfast hulk deck and because how priority and the stack works your opponents will still get to respond to your etb triggers. The interaction is still quite strong since counter spells are heavily nerfed because they don’t know what card you’ll flash in but if they could respond beneficially they still can.

So with that said what is this deck?

This is a reanimator deck that gets value from cheating in huge value creatures such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur until it wins with one of tree combos. The first is the good ole classic mike and trike whereas Triskelion is replaceable with a sac outlet and Walking Ballista . The second is a Necrotic Ooze combo. This requires Devoted Druid , Channeler Initiate and Walking Ballista in the graveyard. If you want to win the turn you play Necrotic Ooze you’ll also need Blighted Bat in the graveyard to get haste since you need to be able to tap. This combo is replaceable by Walking Ballista / Triskelion and phyrexian deourer but I have chosen this combo to reduce the speed for my meta. The third is an evolution on the first one with Protean Hulk . On the first hulk trigger you go get Phyrexian Delver or Body Double and a sacrifice outlet. On the second hulk trigger you get Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Walking Ballista . To clarify: in the mikaeus combo’s Triskelion works by itself while you need a sacrifice outlet for Walking Ballista . This is because mikaeus gives them +1/+1 so with Triskelion you ping an opponent followed by itself twice while Walking Ballista can’t ping both an opponent and itself. If you want to you could run a Blood Artist effect and kill by having it in play and having Walking Ballista ping itself but that doesn’t really work with Protean Hulk and requires extra deckslots so I wouldn’t recommend it. The deck doesn’t really use The Mimeoplasm as a wincon but rather as an extra reanimation or some value but if you want to go for some mimeo beats you could probably do that decently.

I will consider this a 70~% deck untill I have tried it

Until testing I’m pretty unsure if Consuming Aberration is worth an include but I won’t change it until I’ve actually gotten to test it because I want it to be good enough

If you want some extra information on my thought process behind the cards you can sort by custom categories or leave a comment here on tapped out and I will see it at some point although I’m not here that often
