Deathtouch is a main factor to keep an opponent a far. Mixing with deathtouch is Predatory Rampage, which will clear out the field of creatures allowing a open opponent. In dire need Elderscale Wurm becomes a major point in staying alive longer. The use of Conjurer's Closet is big with combining it with Acidic Slime or Tyrant of Discord allowing all lands and permanents to be destroyed/sacrificed. In the line of defense Xathrid Gorgon will stop any big creatures that will oppose a threat.
