i don't think it's quite "there" yet, but it does ok. ramp until you can play out Psychosis Crawler and Time Reversal with a Consecrated Sphinx on the board. (or until you can play all 3)
the deck uses the ramp from old valk in green and the new artifact ramp/proliferate engine.
considerations:
to Into the Roil or not?
an easy upgrade is to swap out Temple Bells for Jace Beleren
i haven't put much thought into the land yet. it plays OK as-is.
Ancient Stirrings
really isn't a bad card for this deck. it's mostly better then preordain, but you'll miss being able to hit Time Reversal with it.
SIDEBOARD:
Autumn's Veil
this card is meant to help you stick combo cards and protect them once their in play vs control. (this card is probably underrated in general)
Spell Pierce
this is just kinda filler for now. don't know how much help this deck needs vs certain matchups, but control has the easiest way of shutting this deck down by just denying it the ability to cast the key cards. it also has some utility vs direct damage and planeswalkers.
Into the Roil
mostly just filler. this spot would probably best be filled with anti-aggro at first guess. maybe a 4th contagion clasp.
Volition Reins
just filler for now... but this deck definitely has the mana to be playing multiples.
Contagion Engine
a little "pricey" at 1.70$, but assuming you can get your ramp going, this is a ridiculous board wipe vs aggro-ish decks.
Venser's Journal
i had this in the first inception of this deck (it was originally UG preator's counsel, then U, then UB, now back to UG). i saw it in a feature deck (Psychosis Machine) and it looks like it might just be able to fit into this deck as an option vs aggro for the life gain.
Summoning Trap
it's about 3$ a pop... could be good vs control match-ups, but most of the cards you wan't really aren't doing stuff when they come into play... so this probably doesn't have a place in this deck. it is worth keeping in mind, though.
