Purchasing Power

Commander / EDH

Kenakth

Designed for a casual EDH night, infinite combos are allowed, but must be interesting, slowish and themed. This is mostly a pirate/sea monster themed deck with primary win-conditions revolving about treasure and a secondary (non-optimal) option of pirate beatdown. Work in progress, and my first deck built without net-decking. I am a new player (2 months or so), so most of the cards going into the deck are Ixalan or Rivals of Ixalan cards that I currently own to save money. I did include a couple creatures that are not quite on theme (Void Winnower and Jin-Gitaxias) because pirates tend to be smaller, weaker creatures, and they just weren't getting the job done if my combo got interrupted.

Possible win conditions:

1) 8 Treasures -> Mechanized Production

2) 10 Treasures -> Revel in Riches

3) 7 Lands -> Brass' Bounty -> Reiterate -> Make infinite Treasures -> Makeshift Munitions or Comet Storm

Current issues to be ironed out:

1) Pirates kinda just suck as creatures. Their effects are not enough to face decks of the average power level of my playgroup. I should probably drop a bunch of pirates and just rely on sorceries, instants and enchantments, but where's the fun in that?

2) Possibly too many counter spells. I may drop down to six of these to add in more recursion cards and get that working more consistently.

3) I realize the mana base is bad, but once again, it is built on an extreme budget. This will be upgraded over time.

Any suggestions on cards to add or just general advice are welcome.
