"One part mizzium, two parts elemental energy, eleven parts danger."
All the decks I build are budget deck that come under 25$. I made this deck because none of my friends have any Izzet decks, this could fill a unoccupied niche.
The basic plan is to pump Nivix Cyclops or Nivmagus Elemental with one or two cost spells like Gods Willing and
Armed / Dangerous
and swing unblocked for 16 damage.
Nivix Cyclops is the core of a lot of combos, he survives Lightning Strike and smaller 3 cost creatures, but can transform into a beast with a few instants.
Spellheart Chimera acts like Nivix Cyclops except he often gets through without having to make him unblockable. I'll usually cast an instant on him to pump him to do either 5,8, or 10 damage, depending on the instant/sorcery.
Nivmagus Elemental can also be a beast if I exile spells early. If I don't have the right combo cards early, I just cast them and exile him and wait for Gods Willing.
Izzet Staticaster
is going to be a real beast now, that
Gorgon's Head
is out. Death to all tokens!! Plus, the card just sounds fun, flash and haste!!
Divination is a nice draw card spell, nothing too noteworthy here.
Izzet Charm is a nice utility spell, it is used to fill in the gap where my opponent can meddle with my strategy.
I have
Armed / Dangerous
and Gods Willing which play a pivotal role in my combos, it is important to hold on to these until you are sure that your opponent cannot stop them. One swing can be all that you need.
Boros Charm is another double strike, a 4 damage to player, or an instant that allows me to survive Supreme Verdict.
Dispel is here to protect my creatures, there is so much removal, that it is key to have a few anti removal.
Any help, feedback, or discussion I would love, and as usual, +1's are much appreciated. Thanks for taking a look!
