Hey folks, I want to build the Modern Allies Deck.
The deck is basically 16 copies of Quirion Druid, which is pretty neato if you ask me. Collected Company is gas in any deck, but when those triggers start stacking it is mighty spicy.
I have seen many variations on this concept, 4 Color Allies, RW Allies, Hardened Scales Allies, Shapeshifter Allies, Aether Vial Allies, the list goes on.You name it, I've seen it. But they all are lacking.
Aether Vial is cool, but it is a super dead draw on turn 3. Aggro needs to be CoCo fast.
Hardened Scales caught my attention, but a single wipe and your investment is gone. You rebuild quick, but four more creatures would slot into the deck better.
What I am looking for is help on my 'optional' 12 creature cards and the sideboard.
Expedition Envoy is a sweet Savannah Lions, definitely in.
I like Jwari Shapeshifter for the main board because it means bonus Quirion Druids. Copying Munda or Kabira doesn't seem like great value, but Harabaz or Halimar are premium choices.
Harabaz Druid is straddling the line for me. I want to put it in, it is gas for Genesis Wave which is bananas.
Halimar Excavator is a potential sideboard card. Opinions? I am not sold on it yet but I think it has the potential to explode, especially with Jwari Shapeshifter.
Ojutai's Command for the draw/reanimate? 4 mana seems hefty.
March from the Tomb seems to be situationally better than Return to the Ranks. Opinions?
