The concept is simple: If my opponent has no lands he cannot stop me from playing whatever I want in peace... Not in standard anyhow.
A vast artillery of land destruction, 16 cards all-in-all, containing
Bramblecrush
Sylvan Primordial
Nessian Demolok
Desecration Plague
Makes for a mean deck killer.
But since 3 of these spells say Destroy target non-creature permanent, they are quite diverse. Not only can they destroy lands, but also Planeswalkers, Enchanments and Artifacts.Having no real creature point-removal I entrust my own creatures with the task to slay whatever my opponent manages to squeeze out before I lay waste to his lands.
It usually starts at turn 3 with 3 lands and an Elvish Mystic or a Sylvan Caryatid in play which allows for playing either
Bramblecrush
or
Desecration Plague
, but it is capable of picking up speed already in turn 2.It's not too likely for it to happen, but starting with 1 Forest, 1 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, 1 Elvish Mystic and X Burning-Tree Emissary, the devotion can bring up, in turn 2, a mana pool of 3 to as much as 9 mana!
Perfect scenario:Starting Hand: 1 Forest, 1 Elvish Mystic, 1 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, 3 Burning-Tree Emissary and a Sylvan Primordial.
turn 1: Forest -> Elvish Mysticturn 2: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx -> tap Elvish Mystic and Forest for mana -> 1, 2, 3 Burning-Tree Emissary -> 2 mana still in mana pool -> tap Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for mana equal to green devotion -> 7 mana in mana pool -> Sylvan Primordial -> Destroy the opponents land and fetch a Stomping Ground
If the first card draw happens to be a Garruk, Caller of Beasts too, then there will most likely be no stopping to this deck.
The odds for "perfect hand scenario" to happen? lower than 0.1%, but just having the possibility of something like this happening in standard makes my stomach tingle ;)
Polukranos, World Eater combined with Bow of Nylea creates an awesome killer kombo almost capable of wiping your opponents creatures from the battlefield with the only exception being hexproof and indestructible creatures.
Xenagos, the Reveler is here to give some extra mana boost and some additional aggro aspect as he can spit out a 2/2 Satyr with haste once-a-turn. the -6 ability isn't too shabby either in this deck.
Suggestion are most welcome as I haven't done anything quite like this before. Hope you like it ;)
