This deck was played in a budget (150.00) EDH tournament in October, 2017.

It performed fairly well for such an odd deck. Stax pieces were the key to victory in most cases. Most of the opponents were certainly not expecting this at all. Laughs were frequent. "Fear my Coral Eel!"

I did manage to pull of a one-shot infect kill of an opponent in a 3 man pod that had a very dominating board state. I do believe I will keep this deck around forever.

In the age of fast combos, crazy strong effects, etc., I thought I would try something different. Use the most vanilla creatures that are the best for their CMC and plop them on the battlefield.

The intent is to make everyone else play the same way. So, this deck also introduces a handful of stax pieces even out the playing field a bit.

Ragnar can help keep my critters on the field. Winning will be accomplished by playing a game of 'Creatures, the Tappening'. My least favorite way to play Magic. The intent is to pump and protect them, making the creatures unblockable.

For flavor theme, Ragnar was a warrior healer. In the stories, he healed Kasimir the Lone Wolf. Bonus points if I can pull this off during a match.
