If you enjoy mercilessly killing your own creatures to gain an edge, or just flat-out win, then this may be the deck for you.

If you are on a budget, this deck can be had for well under $40 if you cut the expensive lands and run more basics. The mana fixing is nice, but you can probably get away with Dragonskull Summit or simply four Rakdos Guildgate.

The Combo Pieces

Fling[DKA - The namesake of this deck. Take your creatures and throw them at your opponent for massive damage. Less exciting to throw them at their creatures, but don't forget that you can do that if you need to.

Disciple of Bolas - Instead of tossing it at your opponent's face, consume it to gain that much life and draw that many cards. Sounds like a Sphinx's Revelation to me.

Things to Fling

Slumbering Dragon - A steadily growing threat that can make aggro decks reconsider their options. If it starts getting too big, they may try to kill it. Fling it at their face in response to their kill spell for some serious damage.

Desecration Demon - A huge threat for so little mana. If they sacrifice creatures to stall it out, it just gives you more damage when you fling it.

Tools for Better Flings

Mark of Mutiny - Steal their creature, make it bigger, swing with it, then Fling it for even more damage, while removing their creature. Even better if you steal an undying creature, as they don't get it back due to the +1/+1 counter.

Auger Spree - If your creature can handle it, this can boost your swing and fling combo by eight additional damage. Also doubles as spot removal.

Chandra, the Firebrand - Her -2 ability can copy the largest of flings for an instant-win. Her +1 is about as useful as any other Chandra really.

Sideboard

Going up against a control deck, cut Slumbering Dragon and a couple other cards for some of these.

  • Slaughter Games - Get rid of their most important cards.
  • Rakdos's Return - The anti-Sphinx's Revelation.
  • Appetite for Brains - Exile their Thragtusk from their hand before they can cast it, and keep them from using Unburial Rites on it later.
  • Reverberate - Copy their counter spell countering their counter spell. Or copy their Sphinx's Revelation. Or copy your massive Fling for insane damage.
  • Sire Of Insanity - Ruins any control deck using counter spells. Also a decent body to Fling for 6 damage.

Other Notes:

Reassembling Skeleton is a placeholder for Tenacious Dead in M14. If you end up with a lot of mana, you can sacrifice it over and over to Bloodthrone Vampire and hit for tons of damage

I just feel like something is missing in this deck, but I don't know what. Maybe Blood Artist is in order here. Could combo out with Bloodthrone Vampire and Tenacious Dead, and add a little extra spice to any fling.

Alternatively, Chandra's Phoenix is another good thing to sacrifice due to its recursion, and also doubles as a hasty beater or flying blocker.

Altar's Reap could give me some extra card draw, if Disciple of Bolas isn't enough.
