Spellheart Chimera is a very fun card in theory... In practice you never seem to get the cards you need.

I tried to keep the general feel of Izzet while pushing something a bit innovative and new (guess that's the same thing). Here goes:

Tome Scour and Doorkeeper are both primarily designed to mill yourself. Combined with Wild Guess and the versatile Izzet Charm you constantly dump your own cards in to your graveyard, shile still ensuring you have the control you need to keep the pressure on.

Wall of Frost just keeps your enemy slow with a big wall, while Nivix Cyclops defends well and allows you to rush him in to being a huge creature temporarily and causes your enemies to think twice about him sticking around. Spellheart Chimera is the focus, however, and feeds off of the self mill in order to turn in to a huge flying trampler.

Counterflux is great support, and Thoughtflare keeps the theme going while giving a great draw card for the later game.

Search the City is primarily for the extra lands and card draw power, but the free turn is great too.
