This deck focuses heavily focuses on getting out as many rats as possible with Marrow-Gnawer (of course) and has sub-themes in life drain, discard, and a little bit of sacrifice. A good portion of this deck is dedicated to ramp so that we can get out Marrow-Gnawer as soon as possible (yes I know there are better black ramp spells, but I'mma on a budget).

Probably the most important card in this deck is Thrumming stone. While I tried to keep all other cards relatively low in cost, I just couldn't ignore this one. It's synergy is too immense with Rat Colony which makes it an instant win if you get it out there. Also, we have Living Death incase someone has a board wipe.

One of the more controversial choices with this deck is my choice of choosing Rat Colony instead of the other multi-copy card I see a lot of people use with this deck: Relentless Rats. Well let me tell you: Rat colony is the better choice. Not only does Rat Colony cost 1 mana less, which helps immensely in the first 5 turns once Marrow-Gnawer is out, but it get's a power boost for EVERY rat that is out there. Not just other Rat Colonies (much like Relentless Rats). Yes I know it doesn't get the toughness boost, but keep in mind that our rats already have fear, and if you are facing against a black / artifact deck, keep not that we will end up having at least 5-7 copies of Rat Colony on any given (average) turn where it matters.

I guess the only tweaks that this deck would need would be adding some tutors, removal, and/or changing out some of the ramp with better ramp!
