Trying out Kura, the Boundless Sky, which was originally an illegal Budoka Gardener/Dokai, Weaver of Life list.

The strategy is sacrifice Kura for value, either leaving a token behind, or tutoring our utility lands. Both the Kura as well as the tokens can be sacrificed increase card advantage through the likes of Greater Good or Momentous Fall, or to tutor additional pieces from our deck with Natural Order. Kura can act as a form of control by tutoring and fighting using the land Arena combined with its Deathtouch Ability, as well as tutor both Thespian’s Stage and Dark Depths as a way to close out the game.

This is the first list and I’ll be refining it from here. I feel like maybe I can focus it more around the token trigger. My initial interest in the Gardener was Dokai’s token generation, but it was hard to build around while consistently getting to 10 lands early, even in G. However, Kura’s sacrifice ability combined with being able to make a token with any number of lands out could be obtainable.

Win cons:

Craterhoof + Tokens from Scute Swarm, Avenger of Zendikar, Rampaging Baloths, or Field of the Dead

Thespian’s Stage + Dark Depths

Rude or Sylvan Awakening

Infinite Tokens: Kura + Ashnod’s Altar + Nim Deathmantle + Doubling Season/Parallel Lives
