My somewhat thought through take on Mono-Red Standard, relying on buffs and moderately cheap creature aggro to keep ahead. I would love some input, good/bad/whatever, and I'll update the description with my thoughts on the card distro later. Thanks!
Digging into this, our main win cons are the four Thunderbreak Regent, that provide large flying bodies to pump with buffs. To that end,
Zada, Hedron Grinder
and Pyromancer's Goggles enable mass/double buffs across my creature base. Creature-wise I was aiming for fast, low maintenance aggro to try and hold the tempo early on until I could get Zada or the goggles out, with multipurpose burn to stave off counter spells and larger creatures. I have decent card draw through Tormenting Voice and Expedite, the latter works wonders with Zada and makes for a great late game refill.
It's a tossup between
Ire Shaman
over Abbot of Keral Keep but I tend to prefer the additional R for casting whatever ends up exiled by the flip.
Scab-Clan Berserker
is interesting. Haste ensures that you can potentially activate Renown immediately, and it's second ability demands removal or opponents risk pinging themselves to death. Overall, a fun card that doesn't see much play.
Titan's Strength provides a solid buff as well as scry. I'm considering Rush of Adrenaline as a possible replacement eventually for the additional Trample.
--Considering--
Reckless Bushwhacker - I like this card, it's aggro-tastic, drops in for 2cmc, pumps my creatures, and fits the theme. It was mentioned that I could potentially pull out
Ravaging Blaze
, my only problem with that is the loss of additional burn. The amount of pump spells helps ensure that Spell Mastery is always on, meaning that it serves a dual purpose as removal and direct damage. What else would be worth swapping out? And how many copies? Bushwhacker is somehat situational, so would two copies cut it?
