If you've ever dated Taylor Swift, you've likely been through the burn of dating here, breaking up, and then having a song written about your breakup to make it eternal. This is my Modern Burn deck that seems to be ever changing--like T-Swift. I do believe the best way to go with a boros maindeck. This allows the deck to not be slowed down by other colors...I'm talking about you black and Bump in the Night. To give the deck an extra boost of needed versatility, the sideboard is aligned with blue and green as well.

DECK DESCRIPTION

Boros Charm: Will likely use the 4 damage every time

Shard Volley : I was running Grim Lavamancer here, but it was just too slow. I put Shard Volley here as a finisher because sometimes, all you want is a bolt.

Goblin Guide: Fast little guy

Lava Spike 3 damage to the face for one man

Lightning Bolt: 3 mana to the player or creature for one mana...one of the best cards of all time

Lightning Helix : The pros are playing it and it's working

Monastery Swiftspear: Fast little thing that rewards me for smaking someone in the face and only cost one mana

Rift Bolt : Will use the suspend almost every time

Searing Blaze : I better get a land out

Skullcrack: another 3 damage spell and prevents life gain

Eidolon of the Great Revel: Burns the world

SIDEBOARD

Destructive Revelry: Good for Affinity, Twin, and Leyline hate

Spellskite: For matchups against twin, bogles, infect, and other burn

Combust : Good against twin, abzan, and any deck that runs creatures that threaten.

Rest in Peace: Good against Abzan, storm, and others

Volcanic Fallout : is at instant speed where Anger of the Gods is at sorcery speed. This way I can hit Inkmoth Nexus, Blinkmoth Nexus, and Mutavault when they come online. Which would kill affinity if you get rid of its lands, let alone a major part of it, all while killing the rest of their creatures. It also hits the player for 2 damage which is huge! And finally, if I cast it, it won't kill a Monastery Swiftspear.

*-------------------------------*

CARDS I"M NOT RUNNING

Molten Rain : Nobody plays tron or amulet around me, so no reason to based on local meta

Anger of the Gods: Not instant speed and doesn't hit player

Shrine of Burning Rage : Would if i had the room in the sideboard, I can usually beat control anyways

Torpor Orb Local meta reasons

Path to Exile: I recommend this card to every other player playing white in their burn deck. Unfortunately, Combust is a better option for me.

Blood Moon : I run too many fetches and too many cards that need other colors

Browbeat: It's a trap....not a good card. It'll never be what the pilot wants it to be. And if it gets countered, it's a bad day. If you need browbeat, you're probably not going to win anyways.

Vexing Devil : Same, it's almost always going to be a wasted mana due to removal.

Collateral Damage : Nor reliable

Deflecting Palm: Kill them before they do a lot of damage. That's my mentality

Grim Lavamancer : The only good time to play it is on turn one, otherwise it is useless

Bump in the Night: It isn't a good idea to run black, especially to run black just for black. Just a waste of life.

Smash to Smithereens : Just haven't played affinity enough to justify it

Kor Firewalker: Just play control with your deck and you won't have to worry about the mirror. Spellskite is there if I need it

Leyline of Sanctity: Protective, not proactive
