Sideboard

Competitive control build for upcoming KTK/BFZ Standard.

Initial testing was Grixis but it was a small cost to add white to the mana base to infidelity play Ojutai's command and Utter End and then I added Crackling Doom and Arashin Cleric in the SB.

Dealing with Aggro I have 3 radiant flames and languish as 3 and 4 mana sweepers, a singleton ultimate price and 3 Ojutai's command. Using a Dragonmaster or Jace to block early helps us get to our sweepers and/or Command to help us stabilize.

Vs Midrange Ojutai's Command does work as well as our other counters. The removal is better with white by adding Utter End since it hits everything at instant speed. Also, the addition of Crackling Doom had helped. The board is usually 0-1 creatures by turn 5, depending on play/draw, in which ObNixilis comes down and immediately kills a creature and begins drawing cards. He's been a beast

Vs control we have our Jace's to pull weight, counter spells, digs, but I think a big reason to play black control is Painful Truth. Drawing 3 cards for 3 mana is huge. (I've even cast it against Aggro when I'm at 9 or 10 life but the advantage of drawing 3 cards helped me draw action that helped me stabilize multiple times. The card is legit). Also, our wincon in Dragonmaster Outcast is pretty important. He comes down for a single mana which makes him very easy to protect on turn 6 on. Even if he makes one dragon he's done his job. I've found that if the opponent can't remove him immediately it's huge bc he's either ending a game we're ahead in very quickly or even catching is up/stabilizing us and multiples are insane.

Sideboard I feel all our matchups get better. Aggro - Kolaghan's Command, Arashin Cleric (who synergizes very well with Ojutai's Command), another Ultimate Price, and Tasigur for a blocker to stabilize the board.

Midrange - I feel we're pretty well suited against M Midrange with our MB except for a few cards. Ultimate price likely comes out as well as the Radiant Flames. Another Crackling Doom, Tasigur, and Ugin help sure things up.

The control mirror - We add a few more counters, Duress, Ugin, and Tasigur for the control matchups. Also, the Crackling Doom come in vs Esper Dragons.

Through some great collaboration with AngelOfDeath626 this list has been coming together and we've been able to tighten up the slots. Transgress the Mind is going to take the place of Silumgar as well as one of the Duress spots, which will leave us with a 2/2 split of Duress and Transgress. Silumgar was there to hate out Thopter tokens but Gideon emblems have kinda shut that down so we're getting rid of the dragon and looking to other means for Hangarback Walker hate. Which brings me to...

Adding Complete Disregard back into the list. It was in the original list but I didn't like that it didn't hit Siege Rhino but the way the meta has shaken out and this list has been compiled, Rhino isn't the biggest worry. I also, initially, overlooked the Jace +1 ability comboing with Complete Disregard to take out even 5 powered creatures. Another reason Jace is ridiculous. I'm still looking to where to put it in. As much as I love Painful Truths I may have to take them out for more removal.
