This deck was painstakingly designed to reflect the malicious playstyle of our favorite Elder Dragon, Nicol Bolas. I constructed it taking into consideration the tactics and motifs of his duel deck, his decks from the Duels of the Planeswalkers games, as well as cards which bear his personal seal of approval, and, of course, his direct portrayals and cards which mirror them.

As a result of this, the deck places a primary focus on discard effects, as well as tutors and card draw, with a secondary focus on kill spells, burning, counters, and control magic, many of which feature an underlying theme of versatility by combining or choosing between more than one of these themes.

I've also taken pains to incorporating the Elder Dragon's most powerful minions, Sarkhan Vol and Tezzeret, both of whom the deck is capable of accommodating in their own right through the prominence of artifacts and Dragon creatures.
