2 Headed Giant Rules

Commanders = Banned as a commander (legal in the 99) in 2 Headed Giant.

MainBoard = Banned in 2 Headed Giant.

Sideboard = Banned in 2 Headed Giant.

Each team takes their turn together, meaning they draw as a team, attack as a team, block as a team, and go through all phases of the turn as a team.

The team that goes first skips their first draw step.

Teams do NOT share any resources -- meaning players can't share cards in hand, mana or life. The short way of remembering this is any reference to "you" on cards still means each individual player.

Teams may share information and strategize together.

The first mulligan is to seven cards, then each mulligan afterward results in one fewer card (six, five, four etc.).

Each player starts with an independent life total of 40.

A Team loses when both players lose the game. If a player loses the game, the remaining player continues until both members of a team have lost.

A player loses the game when they have received a total of 21 or more combat damage from a single commander.

A player loses the game when they have 10 or more poison counters.

A player using a 'you win the game' effect causes the team to win the game. If an effect says that a player can’t win the game, that player’s team can’t win the game. If an effect says that a player can’t lose the game, that player’s team can’t lose the game.
