Revenge of the Obzedat

Standard Midrange WB (Orzhov)

Moonreader1

Sideboard

Maybeboard

Planeswalker (2)

an Orzhov deck that tries to win the game on the backs of either Blood Baron of Vizkopa or Obzedat, Ghost Council . So far it has been very adaptable against the meta, and with sideboarding I feel like I have been able to swing most matches in my favor. Kill Spells against aggro and discard against control to clear the way for my finishers.

Advice and a +1 upvote would be much appreciated.

Won FNM last night! The deck performed quite well, with very few issues.

Game 1 was against a R/G RTR only deck. He drew a lot of lands one game, and I drew a lot of kill spells the next. I won 2-0

Game 2 was against a B/G/U Prime Speaker Zegana deck that had mana issues. won 2-0

Game 3 I got a Bye So I played a casual game against a guy with bant hexproof. I finished that game at 105 life..... he had a witchstalker, a sylvan caryatid, and monsterous fleecemane lion with 2 unflinching courages on it. I had a whip of Erebos, Obzedat, some tithe drinkers and an Alms Beast with a lot of good guys in the grave from a few supreme verdicts he had played. baited out another verdict by leaving obzedat on the field, then devour fleshed his fleecemane lion. Then I just had to whip back obzedat and with him swinging each turn along with everything from my grave, many turns later, he was dead.

Game 4 was against a U/B Mill control deck. The closest match by far, Counterspells are annoying and losing 7ish cards off the top of the library every turn makes a quick clock. The late game inevitability that Whip of Erebos provides was a huge help. Being able to bring back an Alms beast and swing for 6 lifelinked damage on an empty board was great. Also, the extort triggers and damage from getting in with a Tithe Drinker was game changing. I took game 1 attacking with tithe drinkers and sin collectors and extorting spells. Game 2 I had a slow start and got milled out the turn before Obzedat blinking back in would have killed him :/ Game 3 I resolved 2 blood barons and quickly finished him. won 2-1

Overall I was glad with how it went. Got a Foil Heliod in my booster I won as well, so thats nice :) Some changes I am thinking of so far are moving the merciless eviction to the sideboard, as in most games my removal and Obzedat/Blood Baron were enough to take over the board and there was not really anything to exile with it that wouldn't hurt me more. The Scry lands over guildgates would be nice as well.
