Rielle EDH deck that goes nuts discarding and drawing stuff. Primary win condition is to combo but also has several alternate routes to succeed.

Combos:

  • Niv-Mizzet, Parun or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye, Tandem Lookout or Curiosity - Pings/draws until a player is dead. Works well with other pingers that work on draw/discard as well in case this alone isn't enough damage to kill everyone.
  • Twinflame or Sublime Epiphany or Heat Shimmer + Dualcaster Mage - Duplicate Dualcaster Mage a ton of times and run them over with haste tokens AND/OR win off huge value of tokens/cards/bounce AND/OR make an opponents draw their entire decks and lose immediately.   • Brallin, Skyshark Rider   or Glint-Horn Buccaneer + Ophidian Eye, Tandem Lookout or Curiosity - This only works if there is a max hand-size as it requires the discard step to force discard and then draw again. If you don't have Thought Vessel, Library of Leng or Triskaidekaphile in play then you can bond/enchant one of these creatures and go to the discard step with 8+ cards in your hand to trigger discard/draw/ping until everyone is dead.   • Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator + Glint-Horn Buccaneer - The buccaneer's ping triggers Malcolm's treasure creation. As a result, if you have 2 or more opponents you can attack with Glint-Horn Buccaneer, pay two mana to rummage, make treasures and then repeat as many times as you would like. In most cases, this will simply kill the entire table. If somehow it does not, it will let you dig to find another combo.

Stuff to keep in mind:

  • Rielle is really key in this deck. If she isn't out, you don't get extra value from discarding. If you don't get extra value from discarding, many spells in this deck will suck. Play her early, keep her protected.
  • Rielle can only trigger once a turn. Keep this in mind and consider playing instants with discard on other player's turns. Also keep in mind that cycling is instant speed and is counted as discard so don't be afraid to cycle Shark Typhoon or Forgotten Cave if you don't need them on the field.
  • Rites of Refusal and Forbid aren't amazing normally. They are amazing here. Counter someone's removal targeted at Rielle and get extra value from the discard involved.
  • Blue Elemental Blast and Red Elemental Blast can be blanks in some games. It's not a big deal, they can simply be discarded away to draw more and pump up your creatures.
