Rising Above the Influence

Standard Angels Four Color Lifegain Ramp RGWU

Sideboard

This deck has a lot of potential for change, coming Gatecrash's release. The possibilities are endless, but we'll see...

Anyway, this is a mid-ranged deck designed for light control and permission early and mid game with Syncopate and Searing Spear, while creating bored presence with Thragtusk and Huntmaster of the Fells  .

The game winners are as follow: Collective Blessing can be a game destroyer; it makes Huntmaster a whopping 10 points of power for 4 mana, it makes any other creatures jump in value, and altogether becomes a problem for opponents. It's a one-of in the deck. Kessig Wolf is similar to the Blessing in that it make any late game top deck a threat. Dishing out any extra mana for an alpha swing seem really good.Give me two. Angel of Serenity is a one-of to act as a super Oblivion Ring for opponent's creatures, or to collect your creatures from the grave. Finally, Thundermaw Hellkite just finishes game out of nowhere. Coupled with Blessing or Wolf Run makes it better. Two main and two side for when you really need to stomp an opponent. I'm also gonna count Sphinx's Revelation as a winner in the deck, because it wins the card advantage race.

The sideboard run some silly thing, but hear me out. A lot of them makes sense, but maybe you question Curse of Echoes and maybe Selesnya Charm . As far as the charm goes, it was originally in the MB, but got bumped out for something else, but it still deserves a spot in the 75... For now. Why you want to side it in? To stop other's Thundermaws and Angel of Serenity and any other fatties people see themselves running. It can, of course, also make a dude or pump a creature, so keep that in mind when factoring it in. Curse of Echoes might seem weird, but when the control or mirror match is trying to out-Sphinx you, dropping one of these makes them Think Twice about their spells. "Why get my Dissipate dissipated by my own Dissipate? Searing Spear or Pillar of Flame an opposing creature just to get hit back in the face? Pay 3 mana to give my opponent 2 Spirit token too? I think not." It cripples non-creature decks when it comes to playing spells.
