Here's my deck for RIX prerelease! Honestly didn't pull anything too incredible to build a deck around (which kept my inner Timmy in line) so I built around where I had the most creatures and a few big bodies that would pose a threat on the field.
Match 1: B/U deck.First game I got absolutely hammered. My opponent dropped card:Tezimoc, Primal Death early in the game, my mana didn't quite hold up, I had to make a few adjustments. Second game went a lot better. I owe it all to Jungleborn Pioneer. I took that merfolk token, pumped him up with Captain's Hook and Strider Harness, and he took me through the match thanks to hexproof. The third game was cutting it close on time, but I pulled Tilonalli's Summoner around turn 6 or 7(?) and I swung on the following turn for 13 damage with other creatures I had on the field and that was that!
Match 2: B/W Lifelink VampiresThis match isn't worth talking about, my opponent had Elenda, the Dusk Rose, Famished Paladin, Legion Lieutenant, and Forerunner of the Legion on the field both games and there honestly wasn't much for me to compete with.
Match 3: B/U MerfolkThese games were close! My opponent had Tendershoot Dryad, Aquatic Incursion, and Merfolk Mistbinder on the field for both games! So I was up against all types of pumped up tokens. I was able to get my opponent down to 12 life before they had tokens churning out the waazoo. Then I was able to cast Frilled Deathspitter and move my Captain's Hook and Strider Harness on it and swing quick heavy. With my opponent down to 1 life (and opting not to attacked with a FULL board, in fear of Frilled Deathspitter) I managed to pump draw Tilonalli's Crown and that was the first game! Game 2 went similarly, midgame I dropped Sun-Crowned Hunters, equipped my artifacts, and withered my opponent down to 1 life. They opted not to attack (man, isn't the Enrage mechanic great?!) and then I dropped Colossal Dreadmaw to which my opponent conceded.
Overall, I really enjoyed drafting with RIX! I did the best (to my knowledge) with what I pulled and had a much better experience with my last prerelease (where I went 0-3)
