Rotation-Proof Grixis Wizards

Standard UBR (Grixis) Wizards

KrusaderV2 Silver_Lining2

The gameplan is to use the enters-the-battlefield effects of various Wizards, supported by creatures that allow us to dig through the deck, and a selection of burn spells to out-value our opponent.

Card Draw: Dismissive Pyromancer and Seekers' Squire give us early game ways to find our engine cards, as well as stock the grave for recursion later on. Dismissive Pyro is also a Wizard, which matters for Wizard's Lightning

Engines: Naban, Dean of Iteration and Isareth the Awakener. Both these cards power the deck in different ways. Naban makes all of our Wizards generally better, but he's very vulnerable and doesn't power the deck if the game goes long. Isareth can recur a lot of value from our cheap Wizards after we use them for chump blocking or discarding with Dismissive Pyro.

Important Combos: Dire Fleet Ravager + Naban, Dean of Iteration . Ravager is already a dangerous card, but when his effect is doubled he will reduce either player with 20 life down to 8. When Naban is on the field, we have to be a lot more cautious in the timing for casting him-- one good option is waiting until we have several open attackers available, and then playing him before combat to ensure we threaten lethal.

The deck is currently rotation-proof, and I think the Wizard tribe will be very well-positioned going into the Ravnica sets.

Currently, I would mainly appreciate sideboarding tips!
