A competitive Ruric Thar the Unbowed deck, taking influence from the Casually Competitive stax deck and the new SnoopThar list on the cEDH database/Brewer's corner.

The printing of Conspicuous Snoop added the ability to combo quickly on an opportunistic basis, either when the combo or relevant tutors present themselves or when a more proactive approach to the game is a stronger approach. Backup lines include Kikki/Scout or Combat Celebrant combos, or to create infinite mana off of Temur Sabertooth and Dockside Extortionist and finish the game with Finale of Devastation or Mogg Fanatic/Eternal Witness loops.

This deck also makes use of Kessig Wolf Run to crash through with Ruric Thar on stalled out boards, which is doubly useful when opponents have had their life totals chunked away by RT triggers.

Though the last several years have brought little in the way of new stax pieces for Gruul, interaction is a different story. The deck has a shocking number of ways to interact with the stack, or with common combos, often for free.
