This is my take on the Heroic decks that have been around. I had these cards just laying around so I figured why not try it? And it turns out, it works way better than I anticipated: I'm talking "budget deck that swings for 27 damage by turn 4" better.
The main wincon is to buff
Akroan Crusader
or
Phalanx Leader
, preferably while Monastery Swiftspear and Foundry Street Denizen are on the field, and create tokens and buff them like crazy- and then of course, break faces.
Evasion is provided in
Gods Willing
,
Feat of Resistance
and
Hammerhand
. Other buffs are provided, with card draw through Dragon Mantle and
Epiphany Storm
and lifegain through
Ordeal of Heliod
.
If you can't seal the deal in the early game, then you can feint helplessness when your opponent swings at you for 14 and then Deflecting Palm it back into their face for that perfect "... WHAT...Oh, Godamnit..." win- it's quite a sight to see.
Ideal Game:Turn 1: Mountain,
Akroan Crusader
Turn 2: Mountain, Monastery Swiftspear,
Hammerhand
targeting Akroan Crusader, create 1/1 token with haste and swing for 5.
Turn 3: Plains, Dragon Mantle on akroan and draw a card,
Feat of Resistance
on Akroan, 2 1/1 tokens with haste, swing for 9
Turn 4: Plains,
Feat of Resistance
on Akroan,
Hammerhand
on Akroan, pay mountain to get firebreathing from Dragon Mantle, 2 1/1 tokens with haste, Swing for 13
I've never had a deck that could swing for 27 damage by turn 4 until now.
I currently haven't been running a sideboard as I'm not sure exactly which direction to go with it. If you have any ideas or suggestions, throw 'em my way, it would be much appreciated! Thanks for taking a gander!
