The core of this deck lies in the 4x Desecration Demon
+
Kiora's Follower
, which let's us play the demon on turn three by untapping a shock or temple with black via the follower and then untapping the demon on turn 4 after the sacrifice trigger and swing with the demon.
The secondary win condition is an infinite combo involving Elite Arcanist
+
Sage of Hours
+
Triton Tactics
this combo actually only requires blue, but I didn't like the idea of trying to cram 12 cards into an existing archetype.
I decided on the small but effective combination of Desecration Demon and Kiora's Follower as the main win-con because it's so clean and simple, if I get both of those cards on the field I can use the Kiora's Follower to untap the Desecration Demon after his sac trigger goes on the stack and proceed with the attack phase and swing with the demon, much the same way a stormbreath dragon is brutal when it's cast it a turn early off [[sylvan caryatid the Desecration Demon can be ramped out a turn early by Kiora's Follower untapping Overgrown Tomb or Temple of Malady or Mana Confluence just a land with black, then you can cast Desecration Demon on turn 3.
The actual alt wincon involves going infinite turns by imprinting a Triton Tactics onto Elite Arcanist and then you can cast a copy of Triton Tactics choose and target Sage of Hours and the Elite Arcanist. Sage of Hours heroic triggers and he gets a +1/+1 counter. Both Creatures untap and get +0/+3 from Triton Tactics, and you can then tap and recast another copy of Triton Tactics which will trigger the Sage of Hours heroic again, this is repeated 5 times which will require a total of 5 mana. Sage of Hours triggers his heroic ability 5 times in one turn, then you remove those 5 counters and take an extra turn. Once you do this you pass and move to your extra turn, untap and immediately do it again, if your opponent can't interact at this juncture you lock your opponent out of the game.
Disciple of Deceit
using spirngleaf drum and Kiora's Follower I can activate a transmute and tutor up the pieces I need to go infinite turns. Because I have the drums as cheap 1-drop artifacts, I included a pair of Trading Post to serve as inevitability by gaining life by paying 1 mana, tapping the trading post; discard 1 card: you gain 4 life, pay 1 life: make a 0/1 goat token, sacrifice a creature: return one artifact card from your graveyard to your hand,Sacrifice an artifact: draw a card.Trading Post can use the
Springleaf Drum
as a cheap artifact it can sac for card draw then recur and recast and sac again for more card draw, it's a little clunky but it runs. Best part, I can pitch something like Trading Post to a
Disciple of Deceit
inspired trigger and fetch another four drop like Silence the Believers or Desecration Demon and of course a combo piece Elite Arcanist the deck is shaped around being transmutable at 1cmc, 2cmc and 4cmc to be able to find all the combo pieces or their converted cmc's removal or ramp spell,
Springleaf Drum
is a way of adding mana and tapping the
Disciple of Deceit
. kiora's follower at the 2cmc is another mana provider which can be tutored up to provide mana or help untap Desecration Demon or a removal spell.
Sage of Hours
Kiora's Follower The untapping engine of the deck, untappable targets include; Desecration Demon as well as
Disciple of Deceit
and Trading Post.
Elite Arcanist
Desecration Demon the main beater in the deck, untapping it after his sac trigger with Kiora's Follower is what the deck is built around.
AEtherling The Closer.
Triton Tactics
Golgari Charm
Defense against
Supreme Verdict
as well as enchantment removal and -1/-1 to all creatures, so many good modes!
