Primer wip

Roll the dice to see how spicy the salsa will be.

Maybe you're like me and you love playing {R}, and/or eating chips with salsa. There are few other everyday experiences that are as exhilarating as munching into a chip loaded with salsa and waiting for the heat to kick in. How spicy will it be? What will the heat and flavor profile be like?

Playing {R} can be filled with questions like, "How consistent will the most chaotic color be?" or "Can I throw enough damage at everyone's face to at least make it to second place?". To help me answer these questions, I picked Delina, Wild Mage as my commander. Delina is a legendary creature that has mostly lived in the 99 of a few of my other decks so far - Goro-Goro and Satoru currently, and Isshin, Two Heavens as One and Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser each respectively at some point. Across each deck she's been in so far, she's played a role as a token producer with some sort of additional upside or cutesiness in relation to the commander.

At the helm of her own deck, Delina will serve spice around the table by rolling dice to see how hot her token production will be that combat. There's various flavor profiles to this salsa:

• Commander Support: Protection and Extra Triggers

• Enter the Battlefield effects on creatures

• Group Slug damage

• Extra Combats

Once you blend all of these elements with onion, salt, and garlic to taste (ramp, draw, & removal), this Mono Red salsa will be ready to serve at any table. Salsa is best shared with others, so dial in that heat to compliment or stand out at any table.

Commander Support

This is a very commander-centric deck, which can be adjusted for to take some of the pressure off Delina. Running additional copy making effects like Heat Shimmer can help provide some redundancy in case Delina is offline. This may be an area I will explore in expanding over time.

Extra Triggers

• Harmonic Prodigy - Helps Delina get some additional triggers.

• It's not currently in the deck, but Roaming Throne would be at home here. Blend it into the Salsa if you have it, I suppose.

Protection

A fairly straight forward pack of:

• Boots variants: Lavaspur Boots & Lightning Greaves.

• Instant speed options: Deflecting Swat, Tibalt's Trickery & Untimely Malfunction

• Combat damage nullifcation: Brotherhood Regalia & Dolmen Gate

• Utility Lands: Homeward Path, Maze of Ith, & Plaza of Heroes

Rolling with Advantage

Beyond helping Delina get additional triggers via "Harmonic" type effects or extra combats, squeezing some value out of "rolling with advantage" can kick the spice level up a bit.

• Barbarian Class - I doubt that I will sink mana into this for level ups, unless I really don't have anything else worth doing.

• Wyll, Blade of the Frontiers

Ramp

A mix of rocks to accelerate in the first couple of turns mixed with some rituals and treasure support for acceleration in the mid game and beyond. Future edits to this section will examine the expansion of treasure support, or additional of a couple more ritual effects.
