This Saskia the Unyielding deck was made immediately after the card was spoiled. I knew that I wanted to use and abuse her effect. Some of my favorite commander decks I've built thus far have been a Xenagos, God of Revels fatty beatdown and a Mayael the Anima deck with a similar game plan. To me, there is nothing I enjoy more in a commander game then dealing 20+ points of damage per turn (if not more).

This deck can cheat creatures into play, draw an insane amount of cards, and can ramp up incredibly fast. Best of all, you can play creatures that are high costed and efficient. With the amount of removal, synergy, and damage that you'll be dealing, your friends will be shaking in their boots when they see Saskia in the command zone.

Card Selections and Explanation:

Creatures

• Archetype of Endurance - Gives your creatures hexproof and let's them avoid any spot removal. This + Avacyn are a pain to deal with.
• Aurelia, the Warleader - Flying, Vigilance AND Haste? And an extra combat to boot? This guy is an all star in this deck.
• Avacyn, Angel of Hope - Giving your permanents indestructible is amazing.
• Bloom Tender - Can tap for 4 colors once you have Saskia out. A great ramp piece if drawn early.
• Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite - Has a solid effect while on the battlefield.
• Elvish Piper - Can cheat creatures into play for
• Eternal Witness - Classic recursion tool.
• Gisela, Blade of Goldnight - Probably the best creature in the deck. Doubles your damage, and doubles Saskia's damage delt to players. 5 combat damage turns into 10 and then that 10 damage turns into an additional 20 to whomever to named with Saskia.
• Hellkite Tyrant - This was picked based on my playgroup, could be switched out pretty easily.
• Iroas, God of Victory - Gives your creatures Menace and they will take no combat damage? Great card.
• It That Betrays - This is probably on the list of things to cut.
• Knollspine Dragon - Draws an absurd amount of cards.
• Kozilek, Butcher of Truth - Annihilator 4 and possibly drawing 4 is always good
• Scourge of the Throne - Extra combat on a body? Yes please.
• Selvala, Heart of the Wilds - Selvala is amazing. Taps for tons of mana and she let's you draw cards.
• Stonehoof Chieftain - Big body with a good effect.
• Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger - Big body, indestructable, triggers on cast, and exiling cards is good too.
• Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - Big body, indestructable, triggers on cast, and annihilator is good too.
• Void Winnower - Big body with good effects
• Xenagos, God of Revels - Double the size of one of your attacking creatures is fantastic.

Instants

• Beast Within - Classic removal.
• Chaos Warp - Good conditional removal.
• Crop Rotation - Great for searching up utility lands.
• Enlightened Tutor - There are lots of targets for this.
• Hunter's Insight - Good card draw.
• Krosan Grip - Good removal.
• Momentous Fall - Great card draw.
• Noxious Revival - Need something back from the graveyard at instant speed? This card is phenomenal at all stages of the game.
• Path to Exile - Removal.
• Swords to Plowshares - Removal.
• Worldly Tutor - Looking for something in particular? This card is bonkers when you can search for Gisela or Aurelia, etc.

Sorceries

• Austere Command - Removal with the ability to cast multiple things. The high cost of this is inconsequential.
• Blasphemous Act - Great mass removal.
• Cultivate - Ramp.
• Farseek - Ramp.
• Kodama's Reach - Ramp.
• Rishkar's Expertise - Great card draw, plus you can cast something for free.
• Selvala's Stampede - Love this card. It can be a bummer if you hit something inconsequential but usually puts me in the lead.
• Skyshroud Claim - Ramp.
• Sylvan Scrying - Like crop rotation, being able to search out a utility land is great.
• Tooth and Nail - Glorious, wonderful, beautiful card.
• Toxic Deluge - Great removal.
• Vandalblast - Mass artifact removal is good.
• Wheel of Fortune - Card draw.
• Wrath of God - Mass removal.

Enchantments

• Carpet of Flowers - This thing can power out big creatures early on in the game.
• Defense of the Heart - Pet card. What's not to like about putting two creatures into play for 4 mana?
• Greater Good - Protects your creatures from exile and draws you cards.
• Land Tax - Not sure about this card. Early game this is great, but late game its a poor draw.
• Mass Hysteria - Giving your creatures haste can be game-ending.
• Mirari's Wake - Great ramp.
• Sneak Attack - Great card.
• Sylvan Library - Being able to filter the top cards of your library and draw extra's is a very powerful effect. There are a lot of ways to shuffle this deck as well.

Artifacts

• Fellwar Stone - Ramp.
• Gilded Lotus - Ramp.
• Mana Vault - Ramp.
• Mimic Vat - This thing is wonderful. With the amount of attacking your creatures are going to be doing, things are going to go to the graveyard. Being able to save your creatures for a attack next turn, or a surprise blocker is good.
• Sensei's Divining Top - Being able to filter the top cards of your library and draw extra's is a very powerful effect. There are a lot of ways to shuffle this deck as well.
• Sol Ring - Ramp.
• Thran Dynamo - Ramp.
• Whip of Erebos - Not sure about this card. The lifelink is great, but double black can be tough to get with the current mana base.
