3-drops on turn-2 is the name of the game. A unique advantage for these colors, and it works out quite nicely.

Burn on creatures is a rough deal, considering the ample supply of 3-toughness removal. In red, it's Searing Spear, Annihilating Fire, Brimstone Volley, and Flames of the Firebrand all deal with our mana dorks and centaurs. But it doesn't beat a Loxodon Smiter by itself, and killing a creature with burn 'after' blocking damage is deal is a 2-for-1 in your favor.
