Semi-Competitive Prime Speaker

Commander / EDH GU (Simic) Infinite Combo Ramp

"Time is fluid as a dance, and truth as fleeting."

I love Prime Speaker Zegana. She's a giant draw spell sitting in the command zone, waiting to be abused. This deck is semi-competitive, because there are cards that could, and probably should be cut to reduce average CMC and replaced with mana-dorks. Some of these cards which need to be added I simply do not have access to. Some of the cards which would need to be cut, my inner Timmy won't allow me to remove. This is a fine compromise.

The Gameplan: Ramp into as much early-game mana as possible. Depending on the condition of the table and what decks you're facing, tutor for Seedborn Muse as quickly as possible for added resilience. Typical win looks like this: End step of turn prior to yours, Mystical Tutor for Tooth and Nail, putting it on top of your library. Entwine Tooth and Nail, fetching Deadeye Navigator and Palinchron, putting them directly into play. Flicker Palinchron, producing an arbitrarily large amount of mana. Cast Prime Speaker from the command zone; soulbond her with Deadeye Navigator. Flicker Prime Speaker to draw cards until you hit Laboratory Maniac. Cast Lab Man and finish drawing the rest of the deck.

An alternate route to victory involves using Food Chain to exile Eternal Scourge / Misthollow Griffon and re-cast from exile an arbitrarily large number of times, producing a concomitant arbitrarily large amount of mana for casting creatures. Use this mana to cast a suitably huge Walking Ballista and ping the table to death.

OUT:

-1 Fathom Mage Not enough mileage. This isn't a 'moving counters' deck.

-1 Temporal Manipulation Two extra turn spells is enough. Strictly speaking, Time Warp and Time Stretch are better due to flexibility.

-1 Urban Evolution Skeptical about how much an extra draw and land drop spell is worth a slot especially at 5cmc.

-1 Stroke of Genius Don't think both this AND BSZ are needed. Went with BSZ for redundancy.

+1 Brutalizer Exarch Great infinite mana sink when paired with Deadeye Navigator. Burying noncreature permanents on the bottoms of libraries seems good.

+1 Fierce Empath Redundancy. Fetches a lot of serious combo pieces.

+1 Walking Ballista Another win condition when paired with Food Chain.

+1 Burgeoning Most of the games I play are four or more players. With this amount of card draw, this is potentially very powerful.

POTENTIAL CUTS UNDER CONSIDERATION: Void Shatter - Skeptical about the usefulness of this. I may have too many counterspells. Unsure of the ideal number for a deck like this.

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage - Love her ultimate, but how many times is she going to go off. Are there better options?

Venser's Journal - A personal favorite of mine. Lifegain is nice, but a brittle resource. No maximum hand size is always good, but there are other ways to accomplish that.

Eternal Scourge / Misthollow Griffin - Are both needed? Is Manipulate Fate required? What's the best way to utilize Food Chain combo? Unsure if I need both. Two slots seems strict.

Archaeomancer - Is this deserving of a slot? We already have Eternal Witness. This brings back a spell and costs more.
