I played a major comp (1st prize a booster box) very recently and came 3rd place, my opponent in the Semi's was shitting himself, even though he beat me. In general, everyone at my LGS both love and hate it!

This deck revolves around plenty of Blue symbols and high toughness creatures i.e. Walls with moderate amounts of card draw and scry.

Having plenty of permanents with 2+ Blue symbols helps to power Nykthos and Thassa, which sets you up to play Shipbreaker Kraken (and possibly monstrous him the same turn) or bring Master of Waves out and wipe your opponent out next turn with Elementals.

Aetherizes, Cyclonic Rifts and Dissolves are the main control features but the high amount of defenders will offset most amounts of aggro.

Strionic Resonators are a new and surprisingly welcome addition, given that most cards in the deck feature triggered abilities. You'll be able to exile 2 cards with NV Spectre, or tap 8 creatures instead of just 4 with SB Kraken, or double the amount of wave Elementals when Master of Waves enters the battlefield.

The main flaw in this deck is its inability to deal with Mistcutter Hydra, I need help in that regard.
