I don't know what to call the mechanic but I'm using Corpsejack Menace and Bioshift on a stick with
Prophet of Kruphix
.
I use Jarad's Orders to speed up my deck, I need some kind of search function because it's too slow without it. Slitherheads are perfect for Jarad's discards in a deck that multiplies counters.
The Elite Arcanist and
Prophet of Kruphix
are insane together. My preference has been Bioshift over Fog, mainly because I can shift to and from Gyre Sage on other player's turns and cast creatures as flash.
I'm trying to strike some kind of balance in the numbers of axebane guardians and Sylvan Caryatid. I'm unsure of my mana curve in general, I think it's 17?
Originally my lands were all gates, but my mana rate was slow, either I got what I needed by turrn 5ish, or a ridiculously high amount by turn 10 or so. Any suggestions in that direction would be nice.
Right now I've added in
Breeding Pool
, Overgrown Tomb and
Unknown Shores
to see if that changes my game in any direction. Rogue's Passage has always been part of the deck since the beginning with Kalonian Hydra in mind.
Temple of Deceit
is also newly added in an attempt to speed up the deck, while
Unknown Shores
is newly added to keep my totals at 8 Black, 8 Blue, 8 Green, 8 Colorless. I have no idea if I should keep it like this. In playtesting I feel like I'm pulling too many lands and maybe too many Colorless.
Especially since
Forced Adaptation
is reserved for Gyre Sage. If I have a few in my hand and none of those I tend to just cast them on a defender relying on Bioshift to transfer over the counters later, hopefully when Corpsejack Menace is out. Kalonian Hydra is what I use to start counter stacking.
This is my third deck ever, I've been playing Magic for like a month and I've focused on Standard. My Sideboard has my picks for a Modern Deck and the Maybeboard are cards I considered and discarded for various reasons.
Since it was my third attempt I decided on the theme of DC's Trinity, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman.
Prophet of Kruphix
, Kalonian Hydra, and Colossus of Akros, respectively.
