A deck with a bit of a "Twist"
DECK DESIGN:
Sick & Twisted is a neat little combo deck based on the
Squandered Resources Super Budget I've made a few modifications over time, but it's a fun little combo deck to surprise people with.
SYNERGY:
The combo revolves around using
Nomads en-Kor or
Shaman en-Kor to target
Daru Spiritualist,
Task Force, or any cleric over and over. The en-Kors abilities do not actually require any damage to activate. This results in massive toughness for the target. You swing away, and when you connect with the opposing player, cast
About Face or
Inside Out. Surprise! Game over...
Tireless Tribe can be used in place of the others, although he requires you to discard in order to pump him to a lethal amount.
Mother of Runes, Benevolent Bodyguard, Flickering Ward, and Emerge Unscathed all have the ability to grant protection from a color, protecting our creatures as well as giving them an avenue to attack unblocked.
Condemn, along with Pillar of Flame & Lightning Bolt (or other burn/removal of your preference) are mostly used to keep opponents on the defensive, until one of our massive toughness creatures can slip in for the kill.
WARNING: Playing this deck too often may result in the loss of friends, spouses, and teeth. Proceed with caution.
SIDEBOARD:
The Sideboard contains cards that can be swapped in to change this from being a legacy deck to being a pauper deck (Decks built using only commons). The Cards that must be swapped out to make it legal include:
4x
Condemn
4x
Emerge Unscathed
1x
Flickering Ward
1x
Mother of Runes
2x
Shaman en-Kor
BUDGET:
I build every deck under a $100 budget, to be affordable for most casual players. While this removes many of the higher priced and sought after cards from my potential pool, it also forces me to be creative and look into a wider scope of cards. Occasionally I have a deck that exceeds this amount, either due to price inflation over time, or getting a few lucky pulls in packs that I opted to keep, and in those rare cases, I will attempt to annotate replacement options that would bring the deck back in line with this budget.
FEEDBACK:
I’m always interested in people’s opinions, feedback, or questions! Please feel free to comment!
