We want to ramp and get Sigarda aura'd up as soon as possible.

Often times, we win with commander damage as opposed to getting our opponent's life total down to zero. So getting Sigarda up to 7 power is advantageous because we only have to hit our opponent 3 times then. A couple of double strike enablers in Duelist's Heritage & Battle Mastery help with this plan too, often showing that your opponents down have quite as much time as they thought they did.
