Tempo Merfolk with preview cards from Rivals! The aim of this deck is to get creatures on the board on curve, and get damage in. Suggestions are considered and appreciated. Also, when suggesting a card, please also say what you'd replace with your suggestion, as I am quite new.

This is an all-in tempo deck, so I try not to put in cards without immediate impact or that require more effort to work, such as Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, Deeproot Waters, River Sneak, etc.

Creatures

Mist-Cloaked Herald is for easy early damage, not bad but not great, either.

Kumena's Speaker is a pretty consistent 2/2 for one, good in combat.

Merfolk Mistbinder: must I explain?

Deeproot Elite is Merfolk's better Metallic Mimic, because the +1/+1 counter doesn't have to go on the entering creature. The best 2-drop in the deck.

Merfolk Branchwalker is a 3/2 for 2 that shows the nonland on top of your library or a 2/1 that draws a land which is nice whether or not you need a land cause it gets you closer to the next card down.

Jadelight Ranger, as strange as it looks on paper, has worked wonders in play.

Jungleborn Pioneer gives 3 power for three mana, +2 for each Elite/Mistbinder you control, underrated, period.

Kopala, Warden of Waves: because protection is necessary when going wide-ish.

Tempest Caller is a tempo River's Rebuke on a stick.

Other Spells

Nissa, Steward of Elements allows to adapt when flooded or screwed, and is the best possible topdeck on a small board in this deck, especially when you're flooded. Even a solid 3-drop! If you're on a tight budget you might want to replace it, but the card advantage cannot be overemphasised.

Blossoming Defense protects a creature and gets those last points of damage in.
