Yet another deck built around a stupid joke. We were deep in the throes of speculation season for Innistrad, we had nothing but that picture of Liliana in a throne with a dead guy behind her. The internet was aflame with "It's Ulgrotha! Look at the widow's peak on the dead guy! Liliana killed Baron Sengir!" All we knew was that a victorian horro set was coming fresh off of the fall of Mirrodin. So in the midst of some fevered speculation of our own, I very clearly told everyone what would happen in the next block using my entirely supernatural talent for foresight: "Set 1: Dark, victorian world. Humans assaulted on all sides by horror tropes. Set 2: IT GETS WORSE! Set 3: Simon Belmont sweeps in, kills all the monsters, and saves everyone." There was a a pause as I realized I just had an awesome deck idea. "So... who in the Magic multiverse would be a Belmont?" Turns out, those silly geese over at Wizards messed up and printed him a set too early! Luckily, the Prevailer lends himself pretty handily to a voltron build like I'd planned, and Sunforger provided a pretty handy way for him to use all those cool abilities he gets in the game. Zack O'Quinn would later build a Vish Kal deck based around Dracula, and we'd have great fun quoting Symphony of the Night at each other.
