Piling +1/+1 counters on a creature is a reasonable path to victory. Want to know a way that's twice as fast? Well, uh... use +2/+2 counters, duh!

The +2/+2 counter is an exceedingly rare entity, seen only on a handful of cards. Perhaps the easiest to work around are the charming but clumsy chimeras, who give out a +2/+2 counter as well as an ability. Not an ability counter sadly... that would have been great fun, but the idea was long distant at the time. Chimeras are pretty exotic, so it's only fitting that they themselves keep some Exotic Pets around. If you've put a +1/+1 counter as well as a vaunted +2/+2 counter on the board, the Pets gives you 5 unblockable power across two bodies for only three mana. Talk about a bargain! Likewise, Aven Courier can spread the love around to your other non-chimeras, giving some lucky critter a permanent +2/+2 boost every turn. Considering how many flyers and unblockable bois you're running, that should get out of control quickly.

The other way to abuse the appearance of that first +2/+2 counter? Proliferate, of course! From the single use to the gift that keeps on giving, you can pile up more and more +2/+2 counters until your army is ungodly huge. Just thank Yawgmoth that they were never errata'd to two +1/+1 counters!
