Sideboard

this deck is main board completed, and I'm loving every part about it, eeexcept for the sideboard. so the I decided to put together my dream sideboard (which I will get in time) for the time being.

P.S. cruel ultimatum is a RIDICULOUSLY UNDERATED card, and is basically why this deck wins games.

this was the first modern in over a month with over 3-4 people in it, tonight's audience consisted of 11 people. I was ecstatic.

round 1: abzan control?

game 1: my opponent started things off with a Inquisition of Kozilek but had a tough time choosing between my 5 nonland cards, 4 of which were able to be taken with the inquisition, the 5th being Keranos, God of Storms he decided after a little bit to get ride of my Snapcaster Mage. the game was pretty draw-go after that because he knew that I had a Mana Leak in hand. whenever he would play a creature Tarmogoyf or Scavenging Ooze I would just pick it off wih a Lightning Bolt or Terminate, and didn't want to play into the counterspells I still had. but after a little bit, he decided to try and throw some cards at me to attempt at getting rid of my Mana Leak before he played something usefull A.K.A. Liliana of the Veil. but by this time I had drawn into a Remand and a Cryptic Command *list* so when things seemed to be going ok for him in his eyes, they really wernt. I finished that game off with 2 cruel ultimatums and an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon

games 2: by his turn 3, he had already used an Inquisition of Kozilek, and thoughtsieze, taking care of my usefull early game cards, and to not help with things, I got stuck on 4 mana for quite a few turns. but I got back up to pace, but by that time, he had a Liliana of the Veil, and had already beaten me for 6 with a Creeping Tar Pit (not counting my fetch, and shock damage) and I tried to play catchup. but without any Snapcaster Mage, Cruel Ultimatum or anykind of spot removal for his Creeping Tar Pit, it won him the game.

game 3: "THATS TIME IN THE ROUND"

round 2: naya burn

game 1: he just started to strong for my deck, turn 1 Goblin Guide into a turn 2 double Monastery Swiftspear and then some Lightning Bolt and Boros Charm finished me off real quick

game 2: I took out my Ugin, the Spirit Dragon both my Cruel Ultimatums and karenos, god of storms, and had just an amazing starting hand, only spot removal, and just wiped out everything he laid down, but then we both started drawing lands. I probabaly drew around 10 lands in a row, and with a Dispel in hand, he only drew rift bolts and Lava Spike to finish me off.

round 3: mono-blue merfolk

game 1: he just didn't really have any gas this game, I easily took care of him with some quick removal, and me dragging the game on lond enough for an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon to be cast and win me the game.

game 2: I was doing pretty good keeping his creatre count down, until he resolved a Kira, Great Glass-Spinner, things went downhill really fast from there.

game 3: he played 3 back to back Aether Vials and I couldn't counter anything he played, and he got 2 baclk-to-back Master of Wavesfoil and brought me down to 1. I then porcceded to cast 4 cryptic commands in a row to tap his team and bounce his tokens, and then using my snaps to trade with his remaining creatures. I then very fortunately top decked a Cruel Ultimatum followed with an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon to take the cake.

round 4: jund

game 1: he played a Tarmogoyf and a couple Scavenging Ooze which very quicly died to my robust amount of removal, the n proceeded to slap down a Liliana of the Veil to take care of a turn 3 Tasigur, the Golden Fang I played, which I procceded to Lightning Bolt to death. I then turn 7'd a Cruel Ultimatum which I then snapd back on turn 9. he couldn't do anything about it.

game 2: I had a lot harder of a time dealing with his Liliana of the Veil this game, he got to -2 it twice, taking care of a snpacaster mage and a Tasigur, the Golden Fang but when I played a Jace, Architect of Thought and -2'd it, I found a bolt while his lili was at 2 loyalty. but because of all the +1ing of lili, he had no hand left, and therefore no gas. and with jace and his -1, I got the cards i needed to take off and win the game with ease.
