This deck aims to ramp to 7 mana and play its snow fatties, while using burn spells to contain the opponent in the meantime. What I kinda struggle with is finding the best and most fun finishers, and increasing the deck's consistency.
In detail, the deck operates on four types of cards:
My ramp engine.
Into the North
is a great choice for a snow deck. For redundancy, two Search for Tomorrow are also included with the option to Suspend. Finally, Wall of Roots doubles as a mana generator and a defender.
Burn spells.
Skred
is an other obvious choice for snow decks, dealing damage anywhere between 1 and 10 for only one mana.
Volcanic Geyser
converts excess mana to high damage. Lightning Bolt is just simply a very efficient burn spell. Magma Jet is not bad, and also helps consistency with Scry.
Fatties. Rimescale Dragon's key ability saved my hide many times, and its also a flyer - I want all 4 here. (And look at the flavor, a dragon breathing - ice...)
Allosaurus Rider
utilizes the large amount of land and it is at least a 8/8 when casted.
Panglacial Wurm
has trample and snow flavor.
Siege Wurm
seems to be a point of weakness to me, Convoke is useless in this deck, otherwise the card is nothing special. I am also looking for a substitute for
Fire Elemental
.
Utilities. Harmonize is a tremendous help for draw.
Kessig Wolf Run
utilizes excess mana and turns it into damage and trample.
Mouth of Ronom
can be a creature remover - expensive, but it saved the game for me quite a few times.
All in all, it is a very fun deck to play both in 1-on-1 and multiplayer settings. However, the Fatties Department needs more quality staff - any suggestions are welcome (but please stay close to the theme, I want this to stay a budget snow deck as it is, so no planeswalkers, super dual lands, desert creatures etc. :) ). Also, any recommendations on consistency are most welcome.
Thanks, cheers!
