Sideboard

Creature (1)

Power, no matter the cost. That is the essence of Black.

K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth represents this more than any other black commander, allowing you to substitute black mana with life. In a way, phyrexian mana fits no color as well as black.

As soon as K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth hits the board, he gives you a discount to all your spells, ranging from about 50% to 100%, depending on the number of black mana symbols in the casting cost. And once we run out of life, Soul Conduit and Magus of the Mirror let us just use our opponent's life to keep going.

Cards like Demon's Horn, Pontiff of Blight and Aetherflux Reservoir give us a regular source of new life, everytime we cast a spell. Then, should our life still be low, Repay in Kind drags our opponents down to our level.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel can end games on it's own, since our devotion to black is naturally high to maximize K'rrik's benefits. Should that not be enough we can finish them off with Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate, fueled by our amazing ramp cards like: Extraplanar Lens and Caged Sun.

Speaking of Ramp: Sol Ring, Cabal Ritual and Dark Ritual all allow us to bring out our commander as early as turn 2. Jet Medallion and Helm of Awakening help us mitigate the fact that we can't use life to pay for colorless mana symbols, and Blood Celebrant allows us to create mana from nothing to accelerate us even further.

But all that mana would be useless without the card-draw to back it up. Nothing feels better than to cast a Necropotence for free, Greed basically says: "Pay 4 life, Draw a card.", step aside Sylvan Library!

Sign in Blood gives us 2 cards for nothing but 6 life, and Promise of Power gives us 5 cards for 2 mana and 11 life, a price worth paying. And then there's Vilis, Broker of Blood, essentially rewarding us with free cards, whenever we use K'rrik to cheat out our spells.

Last but not least, let's talk about Font of Agonies, a card that seems to be made just for this deck. with it, we can control the field with an iron fist and destroy any creature that stands in our way at almost no cost.
