Trying to make something work in the new Modern. It's not easy. Sideboard is all trial in the face of cookbooks, massive armies flying out of the graveyard, and the other ridiculously fast and OP Modern bullsh*t... kicked the Captivating Vampire out, splashed Red and now have Stromkirk Captain in as a lord providing First Strike and +1/+1. Down to 20 lands... was flooding FAR too often.

SIDEBOARD

Nihil Spellbomb - Graveyard hatred, of course.

Blood Moon - I love having this in the deck, especially for the tribal flavor.

Abrade - Spoils food, affinity, etc. Trashing cookbooks.

Feed the Swarm - Enchantress. I'm meeting too many of these to not have something ready.

Torpor Orb - there is now too much OP shit with ETB triggers to not have this. The new elementals, Ephemerate on a skyclave, other random absolute bullshit.

0-2 - ELEMENTALS: F*ck this deck, too. Fury single-handedly wiped my board, both rounds. I thought I was drawing well. Torpor Orb kicking out Necromentia, taking a SB slot because of this match.

2-1 - HUMANS: I've never won against Humans before. Combination of GREAT draws on my part, and opponent mulligan to 5 in last round. I'll take it, though!

1-2 - VALAKUT / TITANIA COMBO: this was disappointing. Cordial Vampire did WORK, but once the Titania hits the battlefield, the utility is already smoking away. Needed a Sorin to helix a victory. Didn't find him.

2-1 - BGW AGGRO: This deck was a pain in the ass. Not difficult, just a pain. Drawing adequately showed that my list can go midrange.

0-2 - IZZET TEMPO: F*ck this deck. Doesn't help that I flooded both rounds.

2-0 - AFFINITY: Opponent must have not drawn well, and I happened to draw REALLY well. Stromkirk Captain FINALLY played a winning role on the team. Was about to trade back out for Captivating, but will keep Cap'n in for more testing.

1-0 - MONO W HELIOD: Smoked this deck in the first round. Opponent quit. I think the timely Dismember to Heliod was enough to cause that.

0-1 - SARKHAN: Squee 'ed his way through my FLOODING. Got pissed and quit. Sorry opponent.
