YOU ARE HEREBY CORDIALLY INVITED TO A GRAND VAMPIRE PARTY! With your host...Sorin Markov!
Yes, Sorin is the main focus and synergy point of this deck, however being as expensive as he is (a whopping 6 mana) we'll keep him elusive and have him make his grand entrance to the party a little later. No fancy vampire party would be complete without the Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood combo, which just so happens to compliment Sorin's (+2) action a little extremely well! Should you be lucky enough to pull off his (-3) at an opportune moment, you can have Sorin throw his little "end-of-party temper tantrum" with Sorin's Vengeance and end the game there and then! But enough of our host, let's focus on the party at hand, shall we?...
Now, to make this party convenient for all vampires (and not have them travel too far from home) this will, of course, be held in the Swamp.
Piranha Marsh
should do well to keep the riffraff out, accompanied with Leechridden Swamp will feed into this little vampire synergy we have going. Throw in the Crypt of Agadeem to help ramp up this party for our more expensive guests AND their action costs!
Let's get some Vampire Nighthawk guards to keep watch out for any party crashes (they didn't actually want to get invited to the party anyway... I mean, look at them). Some Vampire Cutthroats will of course be in attendance (they're fancy dressed and easy to please, a nice 1 mana cost for some sneaky life-stealing attacks), as well as a Bloodline Keeper
or two to help with attendance (can never have too many flying vampires at one of these fancy affairs). These two types of guests will be very important for our ever popular Indulgent Aristocrat... yes, he's a bit of a jerk, but with a cost of 1 mana he can sacrifice these cheap/expendable guests to bolster our more favored entrants.
Speaking of which, we're going to have some guests of honor here... the Kalastria Highborn accompanied by the Malakir Bloodwitch. Yes, I know they're forest folk and they smell kinda funny, but let's mind our manners. All this vampire sacrificing and killing will help keep up with the vampire synergy! Lastly, we have our hired Blood Artist members to synergize with said sacrificing/killing!
Throw in a Feast of Blood to keep the vampire goodness going with some Basilisk Collar party favors, and you have yourself a successful fancy Sorin party!!... Now everybody GET OUT!!
COMBOS:
Sorin Markov + Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood= Synergy with his (+2).
Sorin Markov + Sorin's Vengeance= A bit of an expensive and lucky draw, but with his (-3) this could potentially be a game ender.
Piranha Marsh
+ Leechridden Swamp + Exquisite Blood= Sort of a "death by gnats" approach, but every little bit counts.
Feast of Blood + Sanguine Bond + Blood Artist= Clear out a nasty beastie AND direct damage? Yes please.
Vampire Nighthawk + Blood Artist= Let's add a little direct damage to those creature kills, shall we?
Indulgent Aristocrat + Bloodline Keeper
+ Kalastria Highborn + Blood Artist= Sacrifice those expendables, boost yo'self up, and let's do some direct damage/healing while we're at it.
Bloodline Keeper
+ Malakir Bloodwitch= The more vamps you have, the nastier her entrance will be.
*Truth be told I AM a bit of a newbie to the world of MTG, recently got into it but I'm definitely in love and definitely was excited to build a vampire deck around one of my favorite Planeswalkers. Comments, suggestions, and critiques are of course welcome! I have no doubt I screwed up SOMEWHERE in this deck build!
