I enjoy creatureless control decks and love infinite combos; My friends don't.
This deck is designed to prevent your opponent(s) from doing anything. Its biggest downfall would be to burn (though it did manage to survive against a creatureless burn deck I have for about 15 minutes; I kept drawing Diabolic Tutor and Elixir of Immortality) and extremely fast aggro and ramp decks.
Aside from combo usage, the card usage is pretty straight forward.
Destruction:
Innocent Blood, and Chainer's Edict for cheap creature destruction that side steps indestructible and hexproof.
Slow Motion for creature destruction that side steps indestructible, or for mana drainage.
Soul Tithe for any nonland permanent destruction that side steps indestructible, or for mana drainage.
Rancid Earth for land destruction, and possilby weenie destruction with a trigger for Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond.
Detering and preventing opponent(s) from attacking me:
Sphere of Safety for preventing opponent(s) from attacking unless they pay out the ass
Ensnaring Bridge for preventing creatures more powerful than the number of cards in my hand from attacking
These two together (or apart) make for a really nice defense in place of creatures
Detering opponent(s) from using mana:
Psychic Venom two damage to target land's controller every time they tap it for mana
Chronic Flooding make an opponent mill 3 everytime they tap a land for mana.
A couple of these with a couple Rancid Earth against a multi-color deck can be fun
Retrieving those pesky hard to reach creatures:
Diabolic Tutor
Sanguine Bond makes for a nice combo with Elixir of Immortality.
Exquisite Blood combos with Psychic Venom, Isolation Cell, and Rancid Earth
As I acquire them, a second Slow Motion will replace Power Leak and 3 Psychic Venom will replace Chronic Flooding.
