"THERE'S A TOLL IN THE HALL NOW"

This is a variation of my very first deck that I ever built before it evolved into my current deck:

Xenagos, God of Big Boys

Commander / EDH noggynogworld

SCORE: 1 | 560 VIEWS

I used cards that used to be in there and some new stuff from the recent sets that I felt were great additions, like Nikya of the Old Ways and Collector Ouphe. This deck is made to hate on anything that isn't creatures. Destroy all those pesky lands and artifacts that stop Ruric Thar, the Unbowed from doing his thing!

It's a fun mid budget build that can perform relatively well! Good for when your table is blue/control heavy. My playgroup has a lot of graveyard decks, so I added a few graveyard hate cards. Feel free to take those out in place of more relevant cards in your group!

Went to my LGS to partake at a Commander Night a little bit ago. For my last round, Ruric Thar was pitted against a competitive Kraum, Ludevic's Opus *f-etch* / Thrasios, Triton Hero combo deck that was easily over $4k (every OG dual, gaea's cradle, the expensive counter spells and mana rocks, you name it. Not even including the fact that some of them were foils!).

I was able to kill him and another player as well. Both those players focused me HARD, but every time Ruric Thar got removed or countered, he came back out over and over again! Although I ended up losing due to the fourth player who did practically nothing all game except poke everyone towards the end, Ruric Thar held his own and beat down a deck that literally at LEAST 20x more expensive than he was. Proud of my boy.
