This is a budget deck that floods the field with flying spirit tokens using cards like Spectral Procession, pumps them with Intangible Virtue, and then nukes all non-token creatures with
Hour of Reckoning
before swinging in for the win. It's nearly mono-white, but does splash black for Lingering Souls.
Token Generators:
Spectral Procession: Three 1/1 fliers for only 3 cmc. This does require 3 white mana sources, but that's not a problem for this deck. Definitely the preferred token generator.
Lingering Souls: This boils down to four 1/1 fliers for 5cmc that can be payed in two installments. It's not quite as good in this deck as Spectral Procession, but still generates a lot of card advantage. It's definitely worth splashing black for.
Midnight Haunting
: Two 1/1 fliers for 3cmc is not bad, but this is an also instant, which allows you to do some combat tricks.
Triplicate Spirits
: At first the 6cmc seems too expensive, but with the sheer volume of tokens the deck generates, convoke makes it easy to cast.
Doomed Traveler: A great one-drop. He chump blocks and then joins the swarm of 1/1 fliers. Fantastic for holding off early aggro.
Utility:
Intangible Virtue: The preferred anthem for tokens. The vigilance is quite useful. One of the reasons why we aren't running any non-token creatures (other than Doomed Traveler).
Hour of Reckoning
: This is the bomb that wins the game when it drops. It wipes their entire board and leaves ours intact. Go ahead and drop it on that poor Doomed Taveler, he'll just turn into a pumped up flier with vigilance.
Brave the Elements: Ought to be an auto-include in all white weenie builds. It's capable of some great combat tricks and it just wins games in a deck like this.
Path to Exile: Obligatory.
So there you have it. Another budget modern deck. Fun to play, cheap to build.
