Throne of the Grim Captain is actually an incredibly busted magic card if you read its backside. Flipping it on turns 4 or 5 is usually game over - barring a board wipe or well-placed edict effect, but the real question is, can we make a deck where the cards around the Throne are consistent enough to flip it while performing decently on their own? With the addition of Bloomburrow, the answer is yes, we can 100% play 10 creatures of each type and also have room for lands and spells to get us to the late game!

Having card advantage and removal baked into the creatures is absolutely necessary so we can progress our main gameplan while holding off our opponent's offense and mount a decent one of our own. Cut Down and Get Lost buy us tons of time and Ruthless Lawbringer goes a long way towards ensuring we can deal with any problem nonland permanents cough Rest in Peace cough while cards like Malcolm, River Herald Scout, Desperate Bloodseeker, and Spyglass Siren dig us deeper through our library for the Throne. Three Tree Mascot is just the consistency this deck needed to be a creature with every type while also helping to block early and fix our mana at the same time.
