What's bigger than the Eldrazi? Nothing, really. Except Volrath the Fallen, after he enlists some of his Eldrazi buddies' help to assist him in conquering the world.

After all, who can stand against a man who has it all?

One very important aspect of this deck is that it was specifically designed to be able to function properly even if Volrath is unable to be cast. My meta is chock full of Meddling Mage-type effects, so I had to make the deck able to play out even if Volrath gets Nixed. Even if I can't attack, I can still pitch creatures to Volrath, then sac him with Final Strike or Rite of Consumption to dome my opponent for (hopefully) a bunch of damage.

As Eldrazi were the reason why I decided to build this deck, I wanted to include primarily Eldrazi creatures. The non-Eldrazi creatures are in there for either their value or their high CMC, so even if I'm not finding a use for them at the moment, I can still pitch them to Volrath if need be.

The deck also puts a high priority on graveyard recursion, as I need ways to get my high-CMC creatures back so I can keep pitching them to Volrath. (Note I said recursion, not reanimation. Though my creatures do have value while on the battlefield, they're much more useful to me in my hand. Thus, the lack of reanimation outlets in the deck.)
