The point is to cast spells to keep the other player at bay and hit them directly. Ideal play: Lava Axe and copy it with Echo Mage, or Lightning Bolt and copy it several times to kill a few creatures, all the while Guttersnipe hitting them for it too. Exile a Negate, Dispel, or Lightning Bolt with Elite Arcanist to gain basically unlimited copies of the counter spells and hold the other player at bay if things are taking a little longer than usual to get going. Trying to make it kinda fast. Suggestions welcome.
