This deck is intended to be the "bag guy" deck to my "good guys" deck Stranger Things Party! WUBRG (5 Color) featuring the cards from the Stranger Things Secret Lair. Like that deck, it isn't meant to be super competitive, and this deck only works well against decks that are creature heavy.

This deck is loaded with "Upside Down" thematic strategies utilizing the graveyard and exile of opponents and taking over their creatures, much as The Mind Flayer does to Will in the show Stranger Things.

So, this deck operates by Mind Flayer, the Shadow taking a card from the bottom of each opponents deck and exiling them face down and allowing us to cast that card using any color of mana. Essentially, the strategy of this deck is to take over all of our opponents creatures by killing/exiling them and sending them to the "Upside Down" and then resurrecting them under our control until we amass an army large enough to overwhelm our opponents.

Though Mind Flayer, the Shadow costs a lot of mana to cast, there is much redundancy to guarantee that we can do what this deck wants to do with cards like Kheru Mind-Eater, Opposition Agent, Cunning Rhetoric, Praetor's Grasp, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Lord of the Void, Thieving Amalgam, and Dauthi Voidwalker.

In addition, we run lots of board wipes like Life's Finale, and Mutilate so that we can manipulate what is on the bottom of our opponents library with, Cogwork Archivist, Junktroller, Reito Lantern, and The Cauldron of Eternity. Or, resurrect everything from our opponents graveyards under our control with a few cards like Rise of the Dark Realms, Liliana Vess, Thrilling Encore, or Grave Betrayal.

If we want to keep Mind Flayer an enchantment and not a creature we run a few sacrifice outlets to sac the creatures we have flayed with Altar of Dementia, Claws of Gix, and Viscera Seer.
